MA, Canadian Certified Counsellor
am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria. I provide counselling to adults, young adults, and children who are struggling with anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, substance use, trauma, depression, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping individuals overcome these problems, and thrive.
I have received training in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Play Therapy, and Gottman’s Couple Therapy. Additionally, I have specialized training and counselling experience in the fields of anxiety (including phobias, social anxiety, school avoidance, fear of speaking, and difficulty separating from parents), parent-child, sibling or other familial relationship struggles, life transitions (including divorce, loss, moving, puberty, starting at a new school), and substance use.
I believe that counselling must be tailored to meet each person’s needs. In therapy, I create a warm and collaborative environment to help individuals and their families achieve their goals.
Many of my clients experience:
- Increased self-confidence
- Fewer symptoms of anxiety
- Improvements in mood
- Better ability to regulate emotions
- Enhanced communication skills
- Deeper, stronger connections with their friends and family
