MCP, REGISTERED CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology with 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist in Vancouver, BC.
My strengths include connecting with each client quickly and customizing the work to achieve what they are coming to therapy to accomplish. I am committed to making sure every session is productive and useful.
I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Parenting, Life Transitions, Conflictual Relationships (professional and personal), Addictions and Eating Disorders (Binge eating, Restricting, Anorexia, Bulimia, Over Exercising, Orthorexia and Negative Body Image).
I work with individuals, couples, families and youth to help them:
- resolve conflict with others and themselves
- build confidence and self-worth
- make difficult decisions
- understand negative emotions and how to prevent them from taking over
- identify triggers that are contributing to recreating the same pattern over and over
- reduce anxiety and stress
- feel more positive about life
- have healthier connections and relationships
- change their relationship with food
I am passionate about change, and believe all individuals have the potential for growth. I believe counselling plays an important role to provide hope, guidance, reflection and a new perspective for people as they navigate the inevitable ups and downs of life.
My therapeutic style is a client-centred approach, using solution focused, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and family therapy modalities to inform my practice.
Outside of my work, I spend a lot time in the outdoors: I love to camp, hike, swim and ride my bike. I have two boys ages 9 and 11 and love watching them play sports and be silly.
I look forward to meeting you.
